Membership/Join: The Logistics

Membership in the La Purísima Classical Guitar Confraternity (LPCGC) is reserved for dedicated individuals committed to the study and performance of advanced classical guitar repertoire. To ensure the integrity and focus of our scholarly fellowship, prospective members must submit a brief statement outlining their current practice goals and commitment to the LPCGC mission. While we do not impose a formal audition, candidates must demonstrate the technical and musical maturity required for continuous work on advanced-level repertoire. The core requirement is the commitment to regularly attend and actively participate in our monthly Soirées, prepared to perform and offer constructive peer review. To begin the process, please submit your inquiry via the contact form on this page, and a founder will reach out with the full schedule and participation guidelines.

Requirements for Membership

Joining the La Purísima Classical Guitar Confraternity (LPCGC) signifies a serious dedication to achieving performance excellence. Our fundamental requirements ensure a focused and productive peer environment: Members must own a quality nylon-string classical guitar suitable for advanced repertoire. Crucially, members must commit to consistent attendance and preparation for our monthly Soirées and scheduled performances, ready to present their works and provide thoughtful review to others. Finally, all members must actively focus their study on advanced skill development and challenging repertoire, demonstrating a shared ambition to progress beyond intermediate levels and contribute to the high artistic standard of the confraternity.

Meeting Schedule and Location

While our confraternity is actively accepting new members, we are currently in the works of securing a consistent, dedicated space within Orange County that meets the needs of advanced acoustic performance. For this reason, we do not have a fixed long-term schedule or location to publish at this time. Our core commitment, however, is to hold formal monthly Soirées. To learn the date, time, and temporary location for our next gathering—and to stay updated on our search for a permanent home—please use the Contact Form linked below. We look forward to connecting with you and sharing our future plans.

Our Ethos: Respect, Inquiry, and Support

The foundation of the LPCGC is a strong ethical code rooted in mutual respect and scholarly inquiry. We are fundamentally a non-competitive, supportive environment where the primary goal is the collective pursuit of advanced artistry, not individual rivalry. Every Soirée and interaction is governed by a commitment to rigorous yet empathetic critique, focusing on constructive feedback that elevates the playing of every member. We cultivate an atmosphere where challenging questions about technique, history, and interpretation are welcomed, ensuring that all learning takes place in a spirit of shared growth, genuine friendship, and unwavering support.
